No one any activity that can be accomplished without the use of energy, therefore the presence of energy has always been a necessity. One of the problems that arise in the use of energy is efficiency. Energy efficiency is a shared responsibility to prevent an energy deficit in the future. Education Department of Electrical Engineering FT UNY as representatives of government institutions must take an active role to contribute the success of energy saving programs, particularly electrical energy. On the other hand, electrical energy savings can not be realized without the support of management and all users so that the energy required for a system to regulate and maintain the continuity of the business in a sustainable manner. One parameter that is used as the first step in the implementation of energy efficiency is the intensity of energy consumption. Based on calculations, the intensity of energy consumption on the theory of space in the Department of Electrical Engineering Education FT UNY revolves around the value of 7.15 KWh / m2 / month, whereas in the laboratory building revolves around the value of 3.79 KWh / person / month. In the application of energy manajmen system, IKE value must be optimized in order to get the most optimal use of energy.
